Online Learning at MNOHS Print E-mail

At MNOHS, Minnesota licensed and highly qualified teachers write and teach their own unique courses!  Students and teachers connect with one another through the Internet rather than in a classroom.

Using state-of-the-art electronic communication tools, students can read, write, think out loud, discuss ideas, create, calculate, get help from teachers, share and respond to one another's work, collaborate on projects, conduct research, solve problems, make decisions, demonstrate what they have learned, and more--all in a virtual school setting using computers and Internet connections.

Students may work on the computer at home, at a library or community computer lab, or even while traveling. Through the Internet, MNOHS comes to the student, and students all over Minnesota bring their diverse community resources to MNOHS.

Online learning is a form of distance education--participants are working in different places and often at different times. But don't be fooled by the word 'distance'! The built-in flexibility of Minnesota Online High School can bring active, self-motivated high school students closer--to the subjects they are studying; to teachers and other students; and to their goals of completing a single course, earning a diploma, or attending college.

Minnesota Online High School creates new opportunities for students who learn better online, for those who want to accelerate their program, and for those whose scheduling needs, work and family obligations, or geographical location make classroom attendance difficult.
