Sarah Carsello has worked in the information technology field with non-profits, government and school settings. In addition to providing desktop and network support, she has done website development, graphic design, trained staff and organizations on software and hardware, and has coordinated events and conferences. Sarah has a B.A. in Marketing from The College of St. Scholastica.

Elissa Raffa has a B.S. in Secondary Science Education and an M.F.A. in Creative and Professional Writing, both from the University of Minnesota. She is licensed to teach physics and chemistry in Minnesota and is also highly qualified in biology, mathematics, and earth science. A founding director of MNOHS, Ms. Raffa has been active in arts education as well as science education. Before starting MNOHS, she developed and taught courses for seven years with the Mindquest Learning Network in Bloomington and for twelve years at Loring Nicollet Alternative School in Minneapolis. She is currently the Seminar Instructor for the Online Internship Project, a statewide collaborative effort which places pre-service teachers in internships with experienced K-12 online teachers. At MNOHS, Ms. Raffa supervises the faculty and the learning program, guiding the development of high-quality, interactive online instruction and assessment in all content areas, using state-of-the-art technologies. Her first novel, Freeing Vera, was published in 2005 by The Permanent Press of Sag Harbor, New York.
